Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
    • New cabin air filter
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Make sure the vehicle is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  • Locate the glove compartment on the passenger side.
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any contents to provide clear access.
  • Use a flathead screwdriver or a trim removal tool to gently pry open the tabs on the sides of the glove compartment.
  • Carefully push the glove compartment inward to release it from the stops and lower it fully.
3. Remove the Cabin Air Filter
  • Identify the cabin air filter housing, which is typically located behind the glove compartment.
  • Release the retaining clips or tabs on the filter housing cover.
  • Pull the cover away to expose the cabin air filter.
  • Carefully slide the old cabin air filter out of the housing, noting the orientation for installation of the new filter.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  • Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented in the same direction as the old filter (indicated by arrows on the filter).
  • Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing until it is fully seated.
  • Reattach the cabin air filter housing cover by securing the retaining clips or tabs.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  • Lift the glove compartment back into position.
  • Push it outward gently to snap it back into the stops.
  • Replace any contents removed from the glove compartment.
