Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting the replacement.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove the bolts securing the engine cover using the socket set.
    2. Lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and extension, spark plug socket
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the ignition coils on top of the cylinder head.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
    3. Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using the ratchet and extension.
    4. Carefully pull the ignition coils out of their respective spark plug wells.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket, ratchet
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Insert the spark plug socket into the well and turn counterclockwise to remove the spark plug.
    2. Carefully extract the spark plug from the cylinder head.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, spark plug socket
  • Parts Required: New spark plugs
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Check the gap of the new spark plugs using a feeler gauge and adjust if necessary.
    2. Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs.
    3. Insert the new spark plug into the cylinder head and hand-tighten.
    4. Use the torque wrench to tighten the spark plug to the manufacturer's specified torque (typically around 13 lb-ft).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Reinsert the ignition coils back into their respective spark plug wells.
    2. Secure the ignition coils with the bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover
