Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Wrench set
    • OBD-II scanner
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off. Wear safety gloves and goggles for protection.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Locate the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Using a socket wrench, loosen the nut on the negative terminal.
  • Remove the negative cable from the battery and ensure it is not in contact with the terminal.
3. Wait Period
  • Allow the vehicle to sit for a minimum of 10 minutes. This ensures any residual electrical energy is discharged and the transmission control module resets.
4. Reconnect Battery
  • Reattach the negative cable to the battery terminal.
  • Tighten the nut securely using the socket wrench.
5. Drive Cycle
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
  • Shift through all the gears (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive) to allow the transmission to recalibrate.
  • Drive the vehicle for about 10-15 minutes, varying speeds and throttle to help the transmission learn the new settings.
