Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Pliers (if needed)
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and turn off the ignition.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove all contents.
  2. Locate the damper arm on the right side of the glove compartment. Gently squeeze the sides of the glove compartment to release the stops and lower it fully.
  3. Remove the damper arm by gently pulling it off its connection point.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover behind the glove compartment. It may have clips or screws securing it.
  2. Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off the clips or unscrew the screws to remove the cover.
  3. Pull the old cabin air filter straight out of its housing. Note the orientation of the filter for installation of the new one.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly (the direction of airflow is usually indicated on the filter).
  2. Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing until it is fully seated.
  3. Reattach the cabin air filter cover, securing it with clips or screws as necessary.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Reconnect the damper arm to the glove compartment.
  2. Squeeze the sides of the glove compartment to allow it to return to its original position.
  3. Ensure the stops are engaged and check that the glove compartment opens and closes smoothly.
