Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, jack, jack stands, torque wrench, wheel chocks.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and securely supported before working underneath.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle from the designated lift points.
  • Securely place jack stands under the vehicle for safety.
3. Remove the Wheel
  1. Loosen lug nuts on the wheel using a socket set.
  2. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel to access the shock absorber.
4. Remove the Shock Absorber
  1. Locate the upper and lower mounting bolts of the shock absorber.
  2. Use the socket set to remove the lower mounting bolt first, then the upper bolt.
  3. Carefully remove the shock absorber from its mounting location.
5. Install New Shock Absorbers
  1. Position the new shock absorber in the same orientation as the removed one.
  2. Install the upper mounting bolt and tighten it to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  3. Install the lower mounting bolt and tighten it to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
6. Reassemble the Wheel
  1. Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  2. Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and onto the ground.
  3. Use the torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
7. Final Checks
  • Ensure that all tools are removed from the area.
  • Perform a final visual inspection of the shock absorbers and surrounding components.
