Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
• Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical issues.

2. Check and Replace Power Steering Fluid

• Tools Required: Funnel, power steering fluid (Honda Genuine Power Steering Fluid).
• Remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
• Using a funnel, add the correct type of power steering fluid to the reservoir until the proper level is reached.
• Replace the cap securely.

3. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Pump

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fluid catch pan.
• Remove any components obstructing access to the power steering pump.
• Disconnect the power steering lines from the pump using a wrench.
• Unbolt the power steering pump from its mounting bracket and remove it.
• Install the new power steering pump and torque the mounting bolts to factory specifications.
• Reconnect the power steering lines and check for tightness.

4. Inspect and Replace Steering Rack

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fluid catch pan.
• Lift the front of the vehicle using a jack and secure with jack stands.
• Disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering rack.
• Remove the mounting bolts securing the steering rack to the subframe.
