Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Lint-free cloth
    • Funnel (if adding fluid)
    • Transmission fluid (Honda ATF DW-1 or equivalent)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is in park and the parking brake is engaged.
    • Allow the engine to cool before checking fluid if it has been running for a long time.
2. Check Fluid Level
  1. Remove Dipstick: Carefully pull the dipstick out of the transmission tube.
  2. Clean Dipstick: Use a lint-free cloth to wipe the dipstick clean.
  3. Reinsert Dipstick: Insert the dipstick back into the tube fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level.
  4. Assess Fluid Level: Verify that the fluid is within the "full" range indicated on the dipstick. If it is low, proceed to the next step.
3. Add Fluid (if necessary)
  1. Insert Funnel: Place a funnel into the dipstick tube.
  2. Add Transmission Fluid: Pour the recommended transmission fluid slowly into the tube. Add only a small amount at a time and recheck the level.
  3. Recheck Level: After adding fluid, reinsert the dipstick and check the level again to ensure it is correct.
  4. Secure Dipstick: Once the fluid level is satisfactory, remove the funnel and insert the dipstick securely back into its tube.
