Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Replace Piston Rings (if necessary)
  1. Drain Engine Oil:

    • Use a socket set to remove the oil drain plug.
    • Allow oil to completely drain into a suitable container.
  2. Remove Engine Components:

    • Disconnect the intake manifold and throttle body.
    • Remove the cylinder head following the manufacturer's torque specifications.
    • Take off the oil pan by removing bolts with a socket set.
  3. Remove Old Piston Rings:

    • Carefully remove the pistons from the engine block.
    • Use a piston ring compressor to remove the old rings, being cautious not to damage the pistons.
  4. Install New Piston Rings:

    • Apply oil to the new piston rings and install them using the piston ring compressor.
    • Reinstall the pistons into the cylinder bores.
3. Replace Valve Seals (if necessary)
  1. Remove Cylinder Head:

    • If not previously done, remove the cylinder head to access the valve seals.
  2. Replace Valve Seals:

    • Carefully remove old valve seals using a seal puller tool.
    • Install new valve seals ensuring they are seated properly.
  3. Reassemble Engine:

    • Reinstall the cylinder head, intake manifold, and oil pan according to torque specifications.
    • Refill with fresh engine oil and reconnect the battery.
