Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves for protection.
2. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts before lifting the vehicle.
  • Place a jack under the vehicle's designated lift points and raise it until the wheel is off the ground.
  • Secure with jack stands for safety.
  • Completely remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Remove Old Struts
  • Locate the strut assembly, typically connected to the wheel hub and the vehicle body.
  • Remove the bolts securing the strut to the wheel hub using a socket set (usually includes top and bottom bolts).
  • Detach the strut from the upper mount by accessing it through the engine bay or under the dash, depending on the model.
  • Carefully remove the strut from the vehicle.
4. Install New Struts
  • Position the new strut in place and secure it to the upper mount first.
  • Reattach the strut to the wheel hub and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications (typically 70-80 ft-lbs, but check the service manual).
  • Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
5. Reassemble the Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove the jack.
  • Tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually 80-100 ft-lbs).
