Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, replacement battery (CR2032), OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe area with the engine off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Sub-step 1: Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing. Start at the seam and work around it to avoid damaging the plastic.
  • Sub-step 2: Once opened, carefully remove the old battery, noting the orientation (+/-).
  • Sub-step 3: Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation.
  • Sub-step 4: Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sub-step 1: Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  • Sub-step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position (not starting the engine) and back to "Off" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Sub-step 3: After the fifth turn, leave the key in the "On" position. The lock and unlock buttons will cycle to indicate programming mode.
  • Sub-step 4: Press the lock button on the key fob within 10 seconds to program it. The locks will cycle again to confirm.
  • Sub-step 5: Turn the ignition off and test the key fob operation.
