Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack and jack stands, lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, pry bar.
  • Safety Warnings: Always ensure the vehicle is secure on jack stands before working under it. Wear safety glasses.
2. Remove Wheels
  • Loosen the lug nuts on the front and rear wheels.
  • Jack the vehicle up and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels using a lug wrench.
3. Inspect Suspension Components
  • Shocks and Struts: Check for oil leakage. If they are damp or wet, they may need replacement.
  • Control Arms and Bushings: Use a pry bar to check for any movement or play in the bushings. If they are cracked or worn, replace them.
  • Ball Joints: Grasp the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock positions and pull in and out. If there is significant movement, replace the ball joint.
  • Tie Rod Ends: Check for any play by moving the tie rod end back and forth. If there is wear, replace the tie rod end.
4. Reassemble
  • If any components are replaced, install new parts according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Reattach the wheels and hand tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground and then torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
