Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and materials.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and turned off.
  • Wear safety gloves and work in a clean area.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, new CR2032 battery
  • Open the key fob by using the flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the two halves.
  • Remove the old battery and observe the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation.
  • Reassemble the key fob, ensuring it clicks back into place.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Tools Required: None
  • Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "ON" position, then back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Leave the key in the "ON" position; the door locks should cycle to indicate programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob to program it; the locks will cycle again to confirm.
  • Turn the ignition off to exit programming mode.
4. Inspect for Damage
  • Tools Required: None
  • Visually inspect the key fob for cracks, water damage, or signs of wear.
  • If damage is found, consider replacing the key fob.
