Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and securely supported.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any sensors attached.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the interior surfaces of the throttle body.
  • Reassemble the air intake duct and reconnect any sensors.
3. Replace Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils (if needed)
  • Remove the ignition coil covers (if applicable) using a socket set.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
  • Remove the ignition coils and spark plugs.
  • Install new spark plugs (torque to manufacturer specifications, usually around 13-15 lb-ft).
  • Reinstall the ignition coils and reconnect the electrical connectors.
4. Check and Replace Fuel Filter (if necessary)
  • Locate the fuel filter and relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines from the filter and replace it with a new filter.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and reinstall the fuel pump relay.
5. Check Transmission Fluid
  • Locate the transmission dipstick and check the fluid level.
  • If low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid (refer to the owner’s manual).
  • If the fluid is dark or smells burnt, consider a transmission fluid change.
