Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and park the vehicle on a flat surface.
  • Ensure the engine is off and the keys are removed from the ignition.
  • Use wheel chocks to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
2. Check Power Steering Fluid
  • Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  • If low, top off with the manufacturer's recommended fluid.
  • If the fluid appears dirty or contaminated, consider a fluid change.
3. Inspect CV Joints and Boots
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Visually inspect the CV joints and boots for any cracks or tears.
  • If damaged, proceed to replace the CV joint assembly:
    • Remove the wheel and brake assembly.
    • Disconnect the outer CV joint from the wheel hub.
    • Remove the inner CV joint from the transmission.
    • Install the new CV joint assembly in reverse order.
4. Check Wheel Bearings
  • While the vehicle is raised, grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock positions and try to rock it.
  • If there is play, remove the wheel and inspect the bearings:
    • Remove the hub assembly.
    • Replace the bearing if it is rough or has excessive play.
5. Inspect and Replace Brake Components (if necessary)
  • Check brake pads for wear and ensure they are not touching the rotor when turning.
  • Replace any worn brake pads or calipers and ensure proper assembly.
