Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools including a small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, and replacement battery (typically CR2032).
  • Ensure you have a clean workspace to avoid losing small components.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing along the seam.
    • Take care not to damage the fob casing during this process.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Carefully note the orientation of the existing battery (positive and negative sides).
    • Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery in the same orientation as noted earlier.
    • Ensure that it fits snugly in the battery compartment.
3. Reassemble the Key Fob
  1. Close the Key Fob:
    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
    • Ensure that there are no gaps along the seam indicating it is not fully closed.
4. Test the Key Fob
  1. Test Functionality:
    • Stand near the vehicle and press the unlock button on the key fob.
    • Check if the doors unlock as expected.
