Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools and Materials:

    • Oil filter wrench
    • Socket set
    • Oil catch pan
    • Funnel
    • Clean rags
    • New engine oil (5W-20)
    • New oil filter
    • Torque wrench
  • Steps:

    1. Gather all tools and materials required for the oil change.
    2. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down if it was recently running.
    3. Lift the vehicle using a jack, and secure it with jack stands if necessary, to access the oil pan.
2. Drain Old Oil
  1. Place the oil catch pan under the oil pan, ensuring it is positioned to catch the draining oil.
  2. Remove the oil drain plug using the socket set. Allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan.
  3. Once drained, clean the drain plug, inspect the gasket, and reinstall it hand-tight.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  1. Locate the oil filter; it is generally found near the oil pan.
  2. Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Be cautious as some oil may still be present in the filter.
  3. Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter.
  4. Install the new oil filter by hand, tightening it according to the manufacturer's specifications (usually ¾ turn after the gasket contacts the mounting surface).
4. Add New Oil
  1. Remove the oil filler cap on top of the engine.
  2. Using a funnel, pour in the new engine oil (approximately 4.4 quarts for the 1.5L turbo engine).
  3. Replace the oil filler cap securely.
5. Check Oil Level
  1. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
  2. Turn off the engine and wait a minute. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. Add more oil if necessary to reach the optimal level.
