Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, and the new battery.
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit area and have access to the vehicle.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be careful not to damage the casing or internal components.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  • Insert the new battery (usually CR2032) ensuring that the positive side is facing up.
  • Ensure the battery is seated properly in the compartment.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they snap into place securely.
  • Avoid using excessive force to prevent damaging the casing.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  • Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the key fob for about 5 seconds.
  • Turn the ignition to OFF and then back to ON, repeat this step twice.
  • After the third cycle, press the "Lock" button on the key fob to complete the programming.
