Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: flathead screwdriver, small socket set, multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the engine is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and note the orientation of the battery placement.
  3. Install the new battery (typically CR2032) in the same orientation.
  4. Snap the fob casing back together ensuring it is sealed properly.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "ON" position (not starting the engine).
  3. Press and hold the "Unlock" button on the key fob for about 5 seconds.
  4. While holding the "Unlock" button, press the "Lock" button three times.
  5. Turn the ignition to "OFF" and then back to "ON" to complete the programming.
4. Inspect and Repair Wiring (if needed)
  1. Open the driver’s side door and remove the door panel using the socket set.
  2. Check the wiring harness for any loose connections or damage.
  3. Repair or replace any damaged wiring or connectors found during the inspection.
