Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Locate the engine cover on top of the engine.
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Access the Ignition Coil
  • Identify the ignition coils located on top of the engine, typically adjacent to the spark plugs.
  • If necessary, remove any components obstructing access (e.g., air intake duct).
4. Remove the Ignition Coil
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Remove the bolt securing the ignition coil using a socket or wrench.
  • Gently pull the ignition coil straight out of the cylinder head.
5. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the new ignition coil boot.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the cylinder head until it is fully seated.
  • Reinstall the securing bolt and tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque (typically around 7.5 lb-ft).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
6. Reassemble and Test
  • If removed, reinstall any components that were taken off to access the ignition coil.
  • Reinstall the engine cover and secure with bolts.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
