Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx screwdriver (if applicable)
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the ignition.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
2. Locate the Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and remove the contents.
  • Locate the stops (either on the sides or a central support) that limit the opening of the glove compartment.
  • Gently push the sides of the glove compartment inward to release it from the stops and lower it fully.
3. Remove the Cabin Air Filter Cover
  • Locate the cabin air filter access cover, typically at the back of the glove compartment area.
  • Depending on the model, you may need to remove screws or use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the cover.
4. Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  • Slide out the old cabin air filter from its housing. Note the orientation of the filter for correct installation of the new filter.
  • Clean the filter housing with a damp cloth to remove any debris.
  • Insert the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly according to airflow direction indicated on the filter.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  • Reattach the cabin air filter access cover, securing it with screws if necessary.
  • Lift the glove compartment back into place and ensure it clips into the stops.
  • Replace any items removed from the glove compartment.
6. Reconnect the Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the vehicle and check the airflow from the climate control system.
