Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Screwdriver set
    • Pliers
    • Drain pan
    • Funnel
    • Hose (if needed for flushing)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
    • Allow the engine to cool completely to prevent burns.
2. Drain Old Coolant
  • Place the drain pan under the radiator drain plug.
  • Open the radiator drain plug located at the bottom of the radiator.
  • If equipped, remove the lower radiator hose using pliers for better drainage.
  • Allow all old coolant to drain completely into the pan.
3. Flush the Radiator
  • Close the radiator drain plug securely once the old coolant is drained.
  • Fill the radiator with a mixture of water and a radiator flush solution according to the product instructions.
  • Start the engine and let it run for about 10-15 minutes with the heater on high to circulate the flush solution.
  • Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
4. Drain the Flush Solution
  • Repeat the draining process by placing the drain pan under the radiator and opening the drain plug again.
  • Ensure all the flush solution is drained completely.
5. Fill with New Coolant
  • Close the radiator drain plug securely.
  • Using a funnel, fill the radiator with the appropriate type of coolant (check the owner's manual for specifications).
  • Fill the reservoir to the recommended level.
6. Bleed the Cooling System
  • Start the engine and let it idle with the radiator cap off.
  • Allow the thermostat to open, indicated by a change in coolant level and airflow from the heater.
  • Top off the radiator with coolant as necessary.
  • Replace the radiator cap securely.
