Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock (negative terminal first).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and securely raise it if necessary.
2. Clean or Replace the Air Filter
  • Remove the air filter cover using a screwdriver.
  • Take out the air filter and inspect it. If dirty, replace it with a new one.
  • Clean the air filter housing with a clean rag before reinstalling.
3. Inspect and Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to clean any carbon deposits from the throttle plate and inside the body.
  • Reassemble the intake duct and ensure all clamps are tight.
4. Check and Replace Spark Plugs (if needed)
  • Remove the ignition coil covers (if applicable) and disconnect the ignition coils.
  • Use a spark plug socket to remove old spark plugs.
  • Inspect plugs for wear; replace with OEM or high-quality aftermarket spark plugs if necessary.
  • Reinstall ignition coils.
5. Fuel System Inspection
  • Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position (without starting the engine) to check pressure.
  • Compare the reading with the manufacturer’s specifications; replace the fuel pump if pressure is low.
  • Replace the fuel filter if it hasn’t been done according to the service schedule.
6. Transmission Fluid Check
  • Locate the transmission dipstick and check fluid level and color.
  • If fluid is low, add the specified type of transmission fluid as per the owner’s manual.
  • If fluid is dark or burnt, consider a transmission fluid change.
