Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Manifold gauge set, multimeter, socket set, and safety goggles.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off before starting work.
2. Check Refrigerant Levels
  • Connect the low and high-pressure sides of the manifold gauge set to the AC service ports.
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC to the maximum setting.
  • Read the pressure gauges; if low, proceed to recharge the system using R-134a refrigerant.
3. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner pulley.
  • Unbolt the AC compressor from its mounting bracket and disconnect the electrical connector.
  • Replace with a new compressor, ensuring it is properly aligned and securely fastened.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector and drive belt.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Locate the cabin air filter compartment, usually found behind the glove box.
  • Open the glove box and remove it to access the filter.
  • Pull out the old filter and insert the new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  • Reassemble the glove box.
5. Recharge AC System
  • After repairs, connect the manifold gauge set to the AC service ports once more.
  • Evacuate the system using a vacuum pump for about 30 minutes to remove moisture.
  • Recharge the system with the recommended amount of R-134a refrigerant.
