Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and turn off the engine.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  • Remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
  • Use a turkey baster to extract old fluid.
  • Replace with new power steering fluid (consult the owner's manual for the correct type).
  • Reinstall the cap.
3. Replace Power Steering Pump (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, pulley puller, torque wrench.
  • Disconnect power steering hoses from the pump and cap the openings.
  • Remove the mounting bolts securing the pump to the engine.
  • Use a pulley puller to remove the pulley from the old pump.
  • Install the pulley onto the new pump.
  • Position the new pump and tighten the mounting bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
  • Reconnect the hoses and refill the power steering fluid.
4. Inspect and Replace Serpentine Belt (if worn)
  • Loosen the tensioner pulley using the appropriate socket.
  • Remove the serpentine belt from the pulleys.
  • Inspect the belt for wear; replace if necessary.
  • Install the new belt according to the routing diagram and tighten the tensioner.
5. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings (if faulty)
  • Lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheel on the affected side.
  • Inspect the wheel bearing for play by shaking the wheel.
  • If faulty, remove the brake caliper and rotor, then remove the wheel hub assembly.
  • Replace the wheel bearings and reassemble in reverse order.
