Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts: brake fluid, wrench set, socket set, brake line wrench, and shop towels.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
2. Inspect and Replace Damaged Components

A. Brake Fluid Reservoir

  • Remove the cap and inspect for cracks.
  • If damaged, replace with a new reservoir, ensuring it’s compatible with the CR-V.

B. Brake Lines and Hoses

  • Visually inspect all brake lines and hoses for leaks.
  • Replace any damaged lines or hoses, ensuring to use proper fittings and torque specifications.

C. Brake Calipers

  • Inspect each brake caliper for leaks.
  • If found leaking, replace the caliper. Use a brake line wrench to disconnect the old caliper and install the new one, torqueing to manufacturer specifications.

D. Master Cylinder

  • Check for leaks around the master cylinder.
  • If leaking, remove the master cylinder by disconnecting the brake lines and unbolting it from the brake booster. Replace it and ensure proper torque is applied to the mounting bolts.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Use a brake bleeder kit to remove air from the brake lines.
  • Start from the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (right rear), then left rear, right front, and finally left front.
