Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: socket set, multimeter, flathead screwdriver, and wiper blade removal tool.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the ignition off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check and Replace Wiper Fuse
  1. Locate the fuse box (usually under the dashboard or in the engine compartment).
  2. Use the owner's manual to find the specific wiper fuse.
  3. Remove the fuse using a fuse puller or pliers.
  4. Inspect the fuse for continuity; replace it if blown with the same amperage rating.
3. Test and Replace Wiper Motor
  1. Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition.
  2. Activate the wiper switch and listen for motor sounds.
  3. If silent, disconnect the wiper motor wiring harness.
  4. Use a multimeter to check for voltage at the connector.
  5. If voltage is present, replace the wiper motor. To do this:
    • Remove the nuts securing the motor to the mounting bracket.
    • Disconnect the motor linkage.
    • Install the new motor by reversing the removal steps.
4. Inspect and Repair Wiper Linkage
  1. Remove the wiper arms using a wiper blade removal tool.
  2. Unfasten the cowl panel to access the wiper linkage.
  3. Visually inspect the linkage for any breaks or disconnections.
  4. If damaged, replace the linkage assembly by unbolting it from the motor and installing the new one.
5. Install New Wiper Blades
  1. Lift the wiper arms away from the windshield.
  2. Press the release tab on the wiper blade and slide it off the arm.
  3. Attach the new blades by sliding them onto the arms until you hear a click.
  4. Lower the wiper arms back onto the windshield.
