Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster
  1. Disconnect Negative Battery Terminal

    • Tools: Wrench
    • Safety Warning: Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)

    • Tools: Socket set
    • Remove any components obstructing access to the brake booster.
  3. Disconnect Vacuum Hose

    • Locate the vacuum hose connected to the brake booster and remove it.
  4. Unbolt Brake Booster

    • Tools: Socket set
    • Remove the nuts/bolts securing the brake booster to the firewall.
  5. Remove Brake Booster

    • Carefully pull the brake booster away from the firewall and disconnect it from the master cylinder.
  6. Install New Brake Booster

    • Position the new brake booster in place and connect it to the master cylinder.
    • Secure it with the nuts/bolts and reconnect the vacuum hose.
3. Bleed Brake System
  1. Check Brake Fluid Level

    • Ensure the brake fluid reservoir is filled to the proper level.
  2. Bleed Brakes

    • Start from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder (usually right rear) and work towards the nearest (left front).
    • Tools: Brake bleeder kit or hose and catch container.
    • Open the bleeder valve and pump the brake pedal until no air bubbles are visible, then close the valve.
