Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small screwdriver, multimeter, and a replacement key fob battery (typically CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and the engine is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a small screwdriver to carefully open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and check for any corrosion or damage inside the fob.
  3. Insert the new battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing the correct direction.
  4. Securely close the key fob casing.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Press the "LOCK" button on the key fob within 5 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition to "OFF" and back to "ON" two more times, pressing the "LOCK" button each time.
  5. Turn the ignition to "OFF" again and remove the key. Test the fob.
4. Inspect Key Fob Receiver
  1. Locate the key fob receiver, typically near the steering column.
  2. Ensure the receiver is securely connected and free from dirt or debris.
  3. If the receiver appears faulty, consider replacing it following the vehicle service manual.
