Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any engine cover if equipped, by unscrewing any retaining bolts or clips.
  • Carefully lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Spark Plug Wires or Ignition Coils
  • If equipped with spark plug wires, carefully disconnect each wire from the spark plugs. Label them for easier reinstallation.
  • If equipped with ignition coils, remove the bolts securing the coils and lift them off the spark plugs.
4. Remove Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head.
  • Turn counterclockwise to loosen and remove each spark plug carefully.
5. Inspect and Install New Spark Plugs
  • Inspect the old spark plugs for wear patterns.
  • Set the gap on the new spark plugs according to manufacturer specifications using a feeler gauge.
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant on the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Install the new spark plugs by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten with the spark plug socket to the specified torque (usually around 13-15 ft-lbs).
6. Reinstall Components
  • Reattach the ignition coils or spark plug wires, ensuring they are connected securely.
  • Replace the engine cover if removed, securing it with the appropriate bolts or clips.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
