Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and set the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues during the repair.
2. Remove Underbody Shield
  • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the underbody shield (if applicable).
  • Carefully lower and remove the shield to access the transmission.
3. Drain Transmission Fluid
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission.
  • Remove the transmission drain plug and allow the fluid to fully drain out.
  • Reinstall the drain plug and torque to manufacturer specifications.
4. Remove Transmission
  • Disconnect the battery terminals to ensure safety.
  • Remove the drive axles by unbolting from the hub assembly and transmission.
  • Unbolt the transmission mount and any other components obstructing transmission removal.
  • Carefully lower the transmission from the engine bay using a transmission jack.
5. Replace Clutch Components
  • Remove the old clutch assembly, including the clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel (if necessary).
  • Inspect the flywheel for damage; if scored, it may need resurfacing or replacement.
  • Install the new clutch disc, aligning it with the pilot bearing.
  • Secure the new pressure plate using the manufacturer-specified torque settings.
6. Reinstall Transmission
  • Raise the transmission back into position and secure it with the mounting bolts.
  • Reinstall the drive axles and reconnect any components removed during the disassembly.
  • Refill the transmission with the appropriate fluid type.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery terminals and ensure all electrical connections are secure.
