Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set (10mm and 12mm), torque wrench, spark plug socket, extension bar, ratchet, compressed air (optional), dielectric grease.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the screws or bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coils on top of the engine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling them straight off.
  • Remove the bolts holding the ignition coils using a 10mm socket and ratchet.
  • Gently pull the ignition coils out from the spark plug wells.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to carefully unscrew each spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • If necessary, blow compressed air into the spark plug wells to remove any debris before removing the spark plugs.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Check the gap on the new spark plugs and adjust if necessary according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the threads of the new spark plugs to prevent galling.
  • Carefully thread the new spark plugs into their respective holes by hand to avoid cross-threading. Then, use a torque wrench to tighten them to the manufacturer's recommended torque (typically around 13 lb-ft or 17.5 Nm).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Reinsert the ignition coils into their respective spark plug wells.
  • Secure the ignition coils with the bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors until you hear a click.
7. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Position the engine cover back on the engine and secure it with the screws or bolts removed earlier.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
