Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: manifold gauge set, UV leak detector, basic hand tools, and a cabin air filter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues during the repair.
2. Inspect and Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  • Locate the tabs on the sides of the glove compartment and gently push them in to lower the compartment.
  • Remove the cabin air filter cover by releasing the clips.
  • Take out the old cabin air filter and inspect it for dirt and blockages.
  • Replace it with a new cabin air filter (OEM recommended).
  • Reassemble the cover and glove compartment.
3. Check and Recharge Refrigerant
  • Connect the manifold gauge set to the AC service ports (low and high).
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC to the maximum setting.
  • Read the pressure gauges; if low, proceed to recharge the system.
  • Use the appropriate refrigerant type (R-134a for this model) and fill to the recommended levels.
  • Monitor the system while charging to avoid overfilling.
4. Inspect AC Compressor and Components
  • Visually inspect the AC compressor for signs of damage or leaks.
  • Check the electrical connections to the compressor and ensure they are secure.
  • If the compressor is not engaging, test the relay and fuses related to the AC system.
  • Replace any faulty components identified during inspection.
5. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the battery and check for any warning lights.
  • Test the AC system by running it at various settings to ensure proper functionality.
