Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Cleaning the Throttle Body
  1. Remove the intake duct connecting to the throttle body.
  2. Use throttle body cleaner and a clean cloth to remove carbon buildup from the throttle plate and walls.
  3. Open the throttle plate and clean the inside thoroughly.
  4. Reinstall the intake duct securely.
3. Inspecting/Replacing the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)
  1. Locate the IAC valve on the intake manifold.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the IAC valve.
  3. Remove the mounting screws and take out the IAC valve.
  4. Inspect the valve for dirt or malfunction, clean or replace as necessary.
  5. Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Checking Fuel Pressure
  1. Locate the fuel rail on the engine.
  2. Attach the fuel pressure gauge to the test port on the fuel rail.
  3. Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine) and record the pressure.
  4. If the pressure is below specifications, check the fuel pump and fuel filter for issues.
  5. Disconnect the gauge and return the fuel line to normal operation.
