Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Floor jack, jack stands, socket set, torque wrench, pry bar, and a stethoscope (optional).
  • Raise the vehicle using the floor jack and support it securely on jack stands. Ensure the vehicle is level for accurate inspection.
2. Inspect and Replace Worn Components
  • Inspect Struts and Shocks:

    • Remove the wheels to access the suspension components.
    • Check for oil leakage around the struts and shocks, indicating failure.
    • If worn, proceed to remove and replace with new struts or shocks.
  • Remove Struts/Shocks:

    • Disconnect the sway bar link from the strut (if applicable).
    • Remove the top mounting nuts of the strut using a socket set.
    • Remove the lower bolts connecting the strut to the knuckle and pull it out.
  • Install New Strut/Shock:

    • Position the new strut/shock and secure it in place with lower bolts.
    • Reattach the sway bar link and torque to manufacturer specifications.
    • Secure the top mount and torque to specification.
3. Replace Worn Bushings and Links
  • Inspect Sway Bar Links and Bushings:

    • Check for play in the sway bar links and bushings.
    • If worn, remove the sway bar links by unscrewing the bolts at both ends.
    • Replace with new sway bar links and bushings.
  • Install New Links:

    • Position the new sway bar link and secure it with bolts.
    • Torque to manufacturer specifications.
4. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to the specified values.
  • Lower the vehicle from jack stands and perform a final check of all connections.
