Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket, ratchet, dielectric grease, compressed air (optional), and a feeler gauge.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before starting work.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Remove any bolts or clips securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the cover off to expose the ignition coils and spark plugs.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from each ignition coil.
  • Remove the bolts securing each ignition coil using the socket set.
  • Gently pull the ignition coils straight out to avoid damaging the connectors.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use the spark plug socket to carefully unscrew each spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • If necessary, use compressed air to blow out any debris from the spark plug wells before removal.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the spark plug boot.
  • Check the gap on each new spark plug using a feeler gauge, adjusting as necessary to meet Honda specifications (usually around 0.044 inches).
  • Carefully thread each new spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten to the manufacturer’s torque specification (typically around 13 lb-ft).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Reinsert each ignition coil into its respective cylinder, ensuring a snug fit.
  • Secure each coil with bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the bolts or clips removed earlier.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is secure.
