Solution

Solution

1. Preparation

  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Phillips screwdriver
    • New cabin air filter
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked on a flat surface.

2. Access the Cabin Air Filter

  1. Open the glove box and remove all contents.
  2. Locate the two stops on the glove box hinges and gently push in on both sides to release the glove box from its stops.
  3. Allow the glove box to hang down by the hinges, exposing the rear compartment.

3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter

  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover, usually a rectangular panel at the rear of the glove box area.
  2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the cover in place.
  3. Carefully pull the cover off to access the cabin air filter.
  4. Remove the old cabin air filter by pulling it straight out, noting the orientation of the filter for correct installation of the new one.

4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter

  1. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented in the same direction as the old filter (typically indicated by an airflow arrow on the filter).
  2. Slide the new filter into the compartment until it is fully seated.
  3. Reattach the filter cover and secure it with the screws using the Phillips screwdriver.

5. Reassemble the Glove Box

  1. Raise the glove box back to its original position and push the sides in to re-engage the stops.
  2. Replace all items back into the glove box.
