Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shocks.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before beginning work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the ignition coils on top of the spark plugs.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing the tab and pulling upward.
  • Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket wrench.
  • Lift the ignition coils out of the spark plug wells.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to carefully unscrew each spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for wear or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Hand-tighten the spark plugs into the cylinder head to prevent cross-threading, then use a torque wrench to tighten them to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 13 lb-ft or 18 Nm).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Place the ignition coils back into their respective positions over the new spark plugs.
  • Secure the ignition coils with their bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Position the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
