Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off and cooled down.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check and Recharge Refrigerant
  1. Connect the refrigerant gauge set to the low and high-pressure service ports.
  2. Check the refrigerant pressure against manufacturer specifications.
  3. If low, add the appropriate refrigerant (R-134a) and monitor pressures to ensure they reach the recommended levels.
  4. Disconnect the gauge set and securely replace the service port caps.
3. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor
  1. Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor using a socket set.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the AC compressor.
  3. Remove the mounting bolts securing the compressor to the engine and carefully take it out.
  4. Install the new compressor by reversing the removal steps, ensuring all bolts are torqued to specification.
  5. Reconnect the electrical connector and reattach the drive belt.
4. Check and Replace AC Relay and Fuses
  1. Locate the fuse box under the dashboard or in the engine bay.
  2. Remove the AC relay and test it with a multimeter for continuity.
  3. If defective, replace the relay with a new one.
  4. Inspect and replace any blown fuses related to the AC system.
5. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter housing, typically behind the glove compartment.
  2. Remove any screws or clips securing the glove compartment and gently lower it.
  3. Take out the old cabin air filter and clean the housing area.
  4. Install the new cabin air filter in the correct orientation.
