Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: a clean, lint-free cloth or paper towel.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface.
2. Locate the Dipstick
  • Open the hood and secure it with the prop rod.
  • Find the engine oil dipstick, which is generally marked with a brightly colored handle (yellow or orange) for easy identification.
3. Check Oil Level
  • Pull the dipstick out from the tube.
  • Wipe the dipstick clean to remove any oil.
  • Fully reinsert the dipstick back into the tube, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  • Remove the dipstick again and observe the oil level on the markings (usually a cross-hatched area). The oil should ideally be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
4. Add Oil if Necessary
  • If the oil level is below the "MIN" mark, add the appropriate oil.
    • Ensure you use the correct oil type as specified in the owner's manual (most commonly 0W-20 for Honda Civics).
  • Remove the oil filler cap located on the top of the engine, and pour oil in slowly using a funnel to avoid spills.
  • Recheck the oil level with the dipstick after adding oil.
