Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: socket set, oil filter wrench, oil pressure gauge, OBD-II scanner, and a clean rag.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is turned off and cool.
2. Check and Top Off Engine Oil
  1. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
  2. Reinsert the dipstick and remove it again to check the oil level.
  3. If the oil level is low, add the recommended oil type (consult owner’s manual) through the oil filler cap.
  4. Recheck the oil level to ensure it is within the safe range.
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Filter
  1. Place an oil drain pan under the oil filter area.
  2. Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
  3. Lubricate the rubber gasket on the new oil filter with a little oil.
  4. Install the new oil filter by hand until snug, then tighten according to manufacturer's specifications (typically 3/4 turn after contact).
  5. Refill engine oil if any was lost during the filter change.
4. Test Oil Pressure
  1. Remove the oil pressure sending unit from the engine.
  2. Attach the oil pressure gauge to the engine in place of the sending unit.
  3. Start the engine and observe the oil pressure reading; it should be within the manufacturer's specified range.
  4. If the pressure is low, further diagnosis of internal engine components may be necessary.
5. Reset Oil Light
  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
  2. Press the gas pedal three times within 10 seconds.
  3. Turn off the ignition and start the engine to check if the oil light is off.
