Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Replace PCV Valve
  • Locate the PCV valve (usually near the intake manifold).
  • Disconnect the vacuum hose attached to the PCV valve.
  • Remove the old PCV valve by twisting and pulling it out of its grommet.
  • Install the new PCV valve by pushing it into the grommet until it clicks into place.
  • Reattach the vacuum hose securely.
3. Perform Engine Repair (if necessary)

a. Replace Valve Seals

  • Remove the valve cover by unscrewing the bolts and gently prying it off.
  • Remove the old valve seals using a seal puller.
  • Install new valve seals by pressing them into place.
  • Reattach the valve cover using a new gasket and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specification.

b. Replace Oil Control Rings (if oil consumption is severe)

  • Remove the engine from the vehicle and disassemble it to access the pistons.
  • Remove the pistons from the cylinders.
  • Replace the oil control rings on each piston.
  • Reassemble the engine, ensuring everything is torqued to specification.
