Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical components.
2. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  • Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  • Remove the cap and check the fluid level; top off with the manufacturer-recommended fluid if low.
  • If the fluid is dirty, drain and replace it:
    1. Place a drain pan under the steering rack.
    2. Disconnect the return line from the reservoir and allow the fluid to drain.
    3. Reconnect the line and fill the reservoir with new fluid.
3. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings
  • Lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels using a lug wrench.
  • Inspect the wheel bearings for play by grasping the wheel and rocking it back and forth.
  • If play is detected, remove the hub assembly:
    1. Remove the brake caliper and rotor.
    2. Remove the axle nut and detach the hub.
    3. Replace the wheel bearings, ensuring proper alignment and lubrication.
  • Reassemble the hub and reinstall the wheel.
4. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  • After removing the wheel, inspect the CV joint boots for tears.
  • If damaged, remove the axle:
    1. Detach the lower control arm and steering knuckle.
    2. Pull the axle out of the transmission.
    3. Replace the CV joint or axle as necessary.
  • Reinstall the axle and reassemble all components.
