Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts while working.
2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  1. Remove the engine cover if applicable using a socket set.
  2. Disconnect the ignition coils, then remove them from each spark plug.
  3. Remove the old spark plugs using a spark plug socket.
  4. Inspect the old spark plugs for wear and replace with new ones if needed (gap per manufacturer specifications).
  5. Reinstall the ignition coils and reconnect electrical connectors.
3. Clean or Replace the IAC Valve
  1. Locate the IAC valve on the throttle body.
  2. Detach the electrical connector and remove the mounting screws.
  3. If cleaning, use throttle body cleaner to remove carbon buildup; if replacing, install the new valve.
  4. Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Check Fuel System
  1. Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine to check fuel pressure.
  3. If pressure is below specifications, inspect the fuel filter and pump, replacing as necessary.
5. Inspect Vacuum Lines
  1. Visually inspect all vacuum lines for cracks or disconnections.
  2. Replace any damaged vacuum lines ensuring secure connections.
