Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools:
    • Wrench or socket set for battery terminal
    • Safety gloves
    • Safety glasses
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe area to work on.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Using the wrench or socket, loosen the nut on the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the negative cable from the battery terminal and ensure it is isolated to prevent accidental reconnection.
3. Wait for Residual Power to Discharge
  • Allow the vehicle to sit for at least 10 minutes. This time is necessary for any capacitors in the system to discharge fully.
4. Reconnect Battery
  • Reattach the negative battery terminal securely.
  • Tighten the nut to ensure a good connection, but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the terminal.
5. Start Engine and Let Idle
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle for approximately 5 minutes. This will enable the TCM to recalibrate its parameters.
  • Observe for any unusual sounds or warning lights during idle.
