Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Components
  • Intake Manifold Cover:

    • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the intake manifold cover.
    • Carefully lift off the cover and set it aside.
  • Fuel Rail:

    • Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail using a fuel line disconnect tool.
    • Unplug the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
    • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail using a socket set.
    • Carefully lift the fuel rail along with the injectors from the intake manifold.
3. Replace Fuel Injectors
  • Injector Removal:

    • Use a pick or small screwdriver to release the clips holding the injectors in place.
    • Gently pull the injectors out of the fuel rail.
  • Install New Injectors:

    • Lubricate the O-rings of the new fuel injectors with a small amount of engine oil.
    • Insert the new injectors into the fuel rail until they click into place.
    • Reinstall the fuel rail back onto the intake manifold, ensuring the injectors seat properly.
4. Reassemble Components
  • Reattach the fuel rail bolts and tighten them to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 16 lb-ft).
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each injector.
  • Reconnect the fuel line to the fuel rail.
  • Reinstall the intake manifold cover and secure it with the appropriate bolts.
5. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Replace the fuel pump relay and turn the ignition to the "ON" position to pressurize the fuel system without starting the engine. Check for leaks around the fuel rail and injectors.
  • Start the engine and let it idle, monitoring for any issues.
