Solution

1. Preparation

• Tools Required: Wrench set, socket set, OBD-II scanner, fluid catch pan.
• Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface, and set the parking brake. Disconnect the battery before starting any electrical work.

2. Check and Refill Power Steering Fluid

• Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
• Remove the cap and check the fluid level. If low, add the manufacturer-recommended power steering fluid.
• Inspect the fluid condition; if it's dark or contaminated, it may need to be flushed.

3. Inspect and Repair Leaks

• Examine all power steering hoses, connections, and the pump for leaks.
• Replace any damaged hoses or seals.
• If the power steering pump is leaking, remove it using the following steps:
  1. Disconnect the power steering lines from the pump.
  2. Remove the mounting bolts securing the pump to the bracket.
  3. Carefully lift the pump out of the engine bay.

4. Replace Power Steering Pump (if necessary)

• Install the new power steering pump:
  1. Position the new pump in place and secure it with mounting bolts.
  2. Reattach the power steering lines and ensure they are tightened properly.
