Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery if needed for safety.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Carefully pry open the key fob casing using the flathead screwdriver.
  • Remove the old battery, noting the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  • Insert the new battery in the same orientation.
  • Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: None.
  • Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  • Press the LOCK button on the key fob for 1 second, then turn the key to OFF.
  • Repeat this process two more times.
  • Finally, turn the key to the ON position and press the LOCK button on the key fob again; this should complete the reprogramming.
4. Verify Key Fob Functionality
  • Test the key fob by pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons to ensure it operates correctly.
  • If the fob still does not work, inspect for physical damage and consider consulting a professional for advanced diagnostics.
