Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required.
  • Disconnect the battery (negative terminal) to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Raise the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
2. Remove Components
  • Remove the engine cover if equipped.
  • Disconnect any components obstructing access to the timing belt (e.g., air intake duct, engine mount, or pulleys).
  • Remove the serpentine belt by releasing tension on the tensioner.
3. Access Timing Belt
  • Remove the timing belt cover by unscrewing the bolts.
  • Rotate the crankshaft to align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys to ensure the engine is at Top Dead Center (TDC).
4. Remove the Old Timing Belt
  • Loosen the timing belt tensioner bolt and remove the tensioner.
  • Slide the old timing belt off the pulleys.
5. Install New Timing Belt
  • Position the new timing belt around the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys, ensuring it is snug but not overly tight.
  • Install the timing belt tensioner and set it to the specified tension.
  • Rotate the crankshaft two full revolutions to ensure proper alignment of timing marks.
6. Reassemble Components
  • Reinstall the timing belt cover and any components removed in reverse order.
  • Reattach the serpentine belt and tensioner.
  • Reconnect the battery.
