Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools: a small flat-head screwdriver or a coin, and a new battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure the workspace is clean and well-lit.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Locate the seam on the edge of the key fob.
  • Use the flat-head screwdriver or coin to gently pry apart the two halves of the key fob, starting at the seam. Be careful not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the casing.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Once the key fob is opened, locate the battery compartment.
  • Note the orientation of the old battery (positive and negative sides).
  • Carefully remove the old battery by sliding it out or using the screwdriver to push it from the opposite side if necessary.
4. Insert the New Battery
  • Take the new CR2032 battery and insert it into the compartment, ensuring the orientation matches the previous battery (positive side facing up, if applicable).
  • Press down gently until the battery is secured in place.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob back together.
  • Press firmly along the seam until you hear a click, indicating the fob is securely closed.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press any button on the key fob to check if it operates correctly.
  • If it does not work, reopen the fob to ensure the battery is seated properly.
