Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a well-ventilated area.
  • Safety warning: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
2. Recharge A/C System
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant (R-134a), refrigerant scale, A/C service hose.
  • Connect the manifold gauges to the A/C service ports (high and low).
  • Check the pressure readings against the manufacturer's specifications.
  • If low, add refrigerant using the service hose until the recommended pressure is achieved.
  • Monitor the system while filling to avoid overcharging.
3. Replace A/C Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, refrigerant recovery machine, A/C compressor replacement.
  • Recover the refrigerant using a recovery machine.
  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Remove the drive belt from the A/C compressor.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and suction/discharge lines from the compressor.
  • Remove the mounting bolts and carefully take out the old compressor.
  • Install the new compressor, ensuring to torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reconnect the suction/discharge lines and electrical connector.
  • Reinstall the drive belt.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool.
  • Locate the cabin air filter compartment (usually behind the glove box).
  • Remove the glove box by releasing the tabs or screws.
  • Take out the old cabin air filter and insert the new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
5. Final Assembly
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the vehicle and turn on the A/C to the maximum setting.
  • Check for any leaks around the A/C compressor and connections.
